K hexagonal lattice
We are developing novel experimental techniques to study genuine out-of-equilibrium topological phases of matter in periodically-driven optical lattices.
Periodic driving (Floquet engineering) allows us to realize topological band structures that have no static counterpart, such as anomalous Floquet topological insulators. Using fermionic potassium in a hexagonal optical lattice we study their bulk and edge properties.
