Nikolas Liebster receives Otto-Haxel-Award for Physics
Congratulations Nikolas! The Otto-Haxel-Award for Physics was presented for his outstanding doctoral thesis.
Quantum information science with ultracold atoms in optical lattices and tweezer arrays
We are an experimental team developing quantum simulators based on ultracold atoms in optical lattices and optical tweezer arrays. Our research focuses on topological physics, lattice gauge theories and out-of-equilibrium dynamics of strongly-interacting quantum many-body systems.
The group is jointly located at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ) in Garching and the Faculty of Physics of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU).
Congratulations Nikolas! The Otto-Haxel-Award for Physics was presented for his outstanding doctoral thesis.
In this work we prepare and study quantum spin liquids in 2D optical superlattices.
Congratulations to Nikolas from our Cs team on his award!
We obtained our first microscope images with 171Yb.
